Matsuko Namikoshi, 73 years old, 38 years practising shiatsu, teaching and doing
research. In 1998 she became director of the Japan Shiatsu College in Tokyo. In
1999 she became president of the International Shiatsu Association.
She is the current president of Namikoshi Shiatsu Associates Corporation Ltd.
She is surely the most important person in the dissemination of shiatsu in the world.
She has written two books:
- How to build a healthy body: shiatsu
- Namikoshi Shiatsu, how to alleviate pain with shiatsu. Self-shiatsu for beginners.
Her message to Shiatsu Yasuragi:
Dear Arturo, Kazuko, Fernando and everyone at Shiatsu Yasuragi.
It has been a pleasure to have taken part in the International Shiatsu Congress Madrid 2009.
Its success has surprised and delighted me. I have no doubt that it is due to your effort, charisma and the trust of your
students. I really thank you with all my heart for having organised it.
I believe this congress is the best starting point for spreading the true shiatsu in Madrid and London. From now on, my
son Takashi and I are committed to collaborate and give you all our support.
I will keep in my mind everything you have done for me during this congress, and it will stay in the jewel case where my
happiest and most unforgettable memories lie. I beg you to take care of yourselves. We'll meet very soon.
